My Bags are packed

I'm getting ready to leave for Michigan tomorrow so I packed as much as I could possibly fit into my back pack. If I had my way I would bring our kitchen sink he he he. My problem is that I cannot bring a bag to check because #1 they always seem to lose my luggage and #2 they are charging 25 dollars for checked bags now. So I'm carrying a backpack and then I can use that 50 dollars that I saved to buy scrapbook supplies.

I'll be visting with my kids, my Mom and my new grand baby while I'm there and I can't wait to get there. So naturally I had to create a Layout to capture the beginning of my journey. My bunny Boo does not like it when I leave him. If he spots the luggage he tries to lay on it or jump in it so I can't put anything in there. I created the lo for him as you can see.

What I used:
Pack your bags cart
Plane cut at 2 2/3"
Suitcase cut at 3"
Lotion bottle cut at 2"

Give a hoot cart
Bunny cut at 2", cut three

All solid paper is from my scrap bin. Paisley patterned paper is from Deja Views Fresh print in blue raspberry paisley. Paper for mats and scalloped paper is from Recollections Autumn 8 x 8 cardstock pad.
Punch - EK success
Stamp on bottle - Studio g
Martha stewart bakers twine

Getting Cricky Camping Challenge

I came across the Simply Sunday Challenge over at Getting Cricky. We have to make any campy type project of our choosing. I love to camp and have not been camping in several years so I knew I had to join in on the fun.

For some inspiration I decided to go to the hundred acre wood to see what Piglet and Pooh were doing. Well as you can see they are sitting outside by the fire.

One of my favorite things to do is to sit outside by the fire with family and friends. I am so pleased with how my layout turned out. I Hope you like it too.

Details:
I cut Pooh and Piglet at 3”, the tree house at 4 1/2" and the grass at 4" and 5" from the Pooh and Friends cart. The fire at 3" from the going places cart.

I added stickles to the flame and used foam tape to pop all my images.

All the paper, the brads and hardware are from my stash. I used marvy markers to add detail to the logs in the fire, the tree, the grass and the stitching around the picture frames and page.

Outside mats were cut at 4 1/2" X 6 1/2". The inside mats were cut at 4" X 6".

The weather has been sunny and warm here in NC and I am trying to enjoy every moment of it when I'm not at work or cleaning the house to get it ready for our company this weekend. I sure hope that we will be sitting outside by our fire this weekend.

Have a wonderful Thursday evening.

MIA?

Am I missing in Action? No I'm still here, I've been cleaning away since we have friends coming in for the weekend.

Every time I clean a room my Huz-Bun comes in and makes sure to mess it up by grabbing a mouth full of hay and running across the room with it! And the fun part, when I try to sweep up the hay he runs into the room to growl and bat at the broom then he tries to take the dust pan away from me.

I had to tell him that we had company coming and that he needs to help me out by keeping the place clean. Now I know what you're thinking... Tami that bunny can not understand what you're saying. Oh but he can! When I tell him we have company coming he does make an effort to keep things tiddy, until they arrive. Rabbits are very intelligent and when you give them a set of rules they quickly figure out ways around these rules so they technically are not breaking them. Very cleaver little fur balls. I am always having to adjust the rules since Boo is good at finding the loop holes.

Anyway, I plan on playing along with some of the challenges this week. I actually started on one challenge but I just had one of those days where no matter what I cut on my cricut it wasn't the right size or the right direction. So I had to just put everything down, walk out of the craft room and close the door behind me. I'm happy to say that I will be back in there this evening to finish my project so I'll have something to post.

I hope you are having a wonderful week so far.

Little Gardener

I originally made this card for the come and get it challenge. We are supposed to use yellow, turquious, purple and pink in our projects. I used green in my card too so I cannot use it for the challenge now. But I love how it turned out.

I bought the penny black stamp a while ago and haven't used it yet so I thought this was the perfect time try out my little girl stamp. Isn't she cute? Hope you are enjoying your Sunday. I'm going outside to enjoy the sun.

Thanks for stopping by.

Drawer Box

Queen of my craftroom is having a 3-D challenge so naturally I had to play along.

My Entry today is a box with a drawer. I decided to a few bird houses to it and leave it at that. I'm going to give it to my Mom for Mother's Day and add a little something special in the drawer for her.

I love how it turned out even though it's very simple. Now I just need to find something to add inside the drawer. Any ideas? She's diabetic so candy is not an option unless it's sugar free.

I left it on the plain side since I thought she might be opening it frequently to store other things inside of it. Hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping by...

Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge #52

It's been windy and raining outside today so I'm in my craft room watching movies and looking for a challenge to play along with.

Wee Memories is having the All things adorable challenge today and that sounded like fun so I got right to work searching through my carts to find things that I think are adorable.

For my entry I decided to make a birthday card for my friend Stacy whom I call the cat whipser. I definitely think I got the adorable part right when I made this card. What do you think?

How I did it:
I used the Meow lite cart to cut my cat at 3". I cut the balls of yarn at 1 1/4" then I flocked them to make them look more like yarn.

I made the rug using a piece of scrap paper from my stash and punched the sides with a Fiskars scallop punch. I used DCWV Linen closet cardstock and the cuttlebug textile texture embossing folder for the center piece of the rug. I added some Tim Holtz antique linen distress ink to the embossed rug.

I cut a shadow of the placemat from the country life cart at 4" to use as a blanket then embossed it with Swiss dots cuttlebug folder and used the distress ink. The cardstock is from Cosmo Cricket Material Girl and Garden Variety double deck stack.

I cut one oval from SU small oval punch and the other oval from EK Success 1 1/4" x 2" punch. I crumpled up the larger oval then added distress ink to the top. I stamped the smaller oval with "Celebrate" from The Paper Company Studio's Greetings clear stamp set. I used "Happy Birthday" from this same stamp set on the inside of the card.

The twine is from Martha Stewart and the brad from my stash.

That's it! Hope you have a Sunny Saturday.

Happy Friday!

Whew! Another work week completed and now I'm ready for the weekend.

I had one more Mother's Day card to make for my Mother-in-law and she loves pink! Well I had to make her a pink card but I didn't want it to be too pink. This time I challenged myself to see if I could get more layers into my card. Of course the picture does not do it justice but you get the idea. I'm very pleased with how this turn out.

I'm entering this card in the Celebrate the Occassion Challenge #9 - Easter or Spring project using a punch.

Recollections Butterfly wings card stock - card and flowers
DCWV Summer Dream Stack - striped paper
DCWV Pocket full of Posies stack - green patterned paper
Cuttlebug Folders - Birds and Swirls and Swiss Dots
Martha Stewart Punch - lacey scallops
EK Success - mini flower punch
Tim Holtz Sizzix Die - Tattered flowers
Tim Holtz - paper distresser

Easter card for my daughter

I made this Easter card for my daughter since I know she loves chocolate as much as I do.

I thought I had notes on what I used to make the card but I cannot find it. I can tell you the bunny was cut from the Live simply cricut lite cart.

Hope you enjoy your weekend and thanks for stopping by.

Fabulous Friday Bling Challenge

This card is for the Fabulous Friday Bling Challenge at Frosted Designs

Here’s my recipe:
I stared off with DCWV cardstock from dots, stripes & plaid pack as my card. I used Tim Holtz antique linen Distress Ink to add a little softness to my card.

I used the Live Simply to cut my hedgehog at 2” then I assembled him and ran him through my Big Shot using the Swiss dots cuddlebug folder. I colored the dots with a Marvy marker and added black bling from Queen & Co. to his eyes and nose. I used some foam tape to pop him just slightly above everything else.

I cut the flowers from the same cart at 3” and 2” using cardstock from DCWV glitter mat stack and The Paper Company in pink, green, and blue. I assembled my flowers and added bling from Queen & Co. I used Marvy markers to add dots and Hampton Art dye ink.

I cut the grass from Plantin School book cart at 2” then I put it through the SU Top Note die horizontally and then ran it through again using the Swiss dots folder. I cut one complete SU Top Note from DCWV Summer Dream stack. I assembled the grass on to the top note leaving glue off of the blades of grass on the section I stuck the flower behind.

I cut a tag from Twinkle Toes Lite Cart at 1 ¼” and stamped the sentiment from Hampton Arts Foot Longs warm fuzzies clear stamp set. I used flocked flower brads from my stash to hold the tag in place. The green and white checked ribbon was also used from stash.

Hope you like it as much as I do.
