Happy Tuesday!!! I have a busy week lined up but I really need to make some birthday cards so I decided to enter a few more challenges in order to get a few cards made.

I have a dear friend that adores cats of all kinds and loves, loves, loves the movie Tombstone. So I created this card just for her with the help of Pink by Designs Cow Girl UP stamp set.

Fishing you were here...

For my Blog Candy Give-away Click HERE

Today was a perfect day to clean house and play in my craft room. While visiting my crafty friends blogs this morning, I came across the Using one cartridge for a week challenge with the Getting Cricky Design Team at DDs crafts blog and decided to play along.

I love K. Andrew stamps so I dug through my draws of stamps and pulled out the Splash-tastic stamp set for some inspiration. I saw the sentiment, "Fishing you were here" and decided to design my card around that stamp.

Here's what I came up with using a cart that I have not used since last spring. What do you think?

How I made this card:
K. Andrews Splash-tastic Stamp Set - Fishing you were here.
Meow Lite Cart - Cat with fish bowl cut at 4 1/2"
Shadow of cat cut using Recollections black cardstock
Cat cut using DCWV The fun in the sun Summer stack 12 x 12 cardstock pack
Water cut using ColorBok pearlescent paper
Fish bowl cut using light gray Recollections cardstock

S.E.I. Morocco 12 x12 paper pad:
  Orange background on card
  Blue punched cardstock
  Grey patterned cardstock

Fiskars punch used to punch edges of blue cardstock
Glossy Accents used on the fish bowl
Orange Peel stickles use on the fish
Zig pen for detailing
Stampin Up! Basic Black and Bordering Blue ink
Fancy Frame Stamp and Die set from My creative Time

I stitched around the grey patterned cardstock with orange thread then glued this down to my orange cardstock on the card. I used foam tape for the cat and the tag. Then I took some of my Basic Grey Coordinating fibers and tied it to the punched edge to give the cat something else to play with other than that poor fish. hehehe.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday. Happy crafting...

Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge #52

It's been windy and raining outside today so I'm in my craft room watching movies and looking for a challenge to play along with.

Wee Memories is having the All things adorable challenge today and that sounded like fun so I got right to work searching through my carts to find things that I think are adorable.

For my entry I decided to make a birthday card for my friend Stacy whom I call the cat whipser. I definitely think I got the adorable part right when I made this card. What do you think?

How I did it:
I used the Meow lite cart to cut my cat at 3". I cut the balls of yarn at 1 1/4" then I flocked them to make them look more like yarn.

I made the rug using a piece of scrap paper from my stash and punched the sides with a Fiskars scallop punch. I used DCWV Linen closet cardstock and the cuttlebug textile texture embossing folder for the center piece of the rug. I added some Tim Holtz antique linen distress ink to the embossed rug.

I cut a shadow of the placemat from the country life cart at 4" to use as a blanket then embossed it with Swiss dots cuttlebug folder and used the distress ink. The cardstock is from Cosmo Cricket Material Girl and Garden Variety double deck stack.

I cut one oval from SU small oval punch and the other oval from EK Success 1 1/4" x 2" punch. I crumpled up the larger oval then added distress ink to the top. I stamped the smaller oval with "Celebrate" from The Paper Company Studio's Greetings clear stamp set. I used "Happy Birthday" from this same stamp set on the inside of the card.

The twine is from Martha Stewart and the brad from my stash.

That's it! Hope you have a Sunny Saturday.
