Cut It Up Challenge #23 - Christmas in July

It's time for another Cut it up Blog Challenge and this one was right up my alley. It's Challenge #23 - Christmas in July.

My Little Hopper's know that I have been making Christmas cards early this year so that I can have the time to sit back and enjoy the Holiday with out stressing myself out. So what a nice surprise to see that I got to create another Christmas card to add to my collection.

Believe it or not I actually struggled with this one since I am not in the Christmas mood right now. It's summer and I just celebrated the Fourth. My daughter gave me the idea to incorporate Uncle Sam's hat in my design. Such a clever and crafty girl, she takes after her Mom, hehehe.

Here is what I came up with to include her idea. How fun is this?

Here's how I did it:
Create A Critter 2 cart - pg 51 icon, Uncle Sam's hat cut at 2" on my scrap pieces of Recollections CS.
Jolly Holidays cart - Santa 1 cut at 4" again using my scrap Recollections CS.

My background mat was cut from Stars and Stripes from the Paper Studio at 5 1/4 X 4. Same for the inside mat but I stuck with white CS for that.

The Santa was originally holding a bag but I covered it up with Uncle Sam's hat, then cut off the part of the bag that sticky out from the side of the hat. Santa also came with a weird a little piece that was supposed to be his face but it looked out of place to me so I opted for some google eyes instead. For his beard and trim I used pearlescent CS from Color Bok. I used my D'Vine Swirls cuttlebug folder to give his beard some curls.

It's very hard to see by I also took my Sizzix folder in Powered sugar to emboss a little design on Santa's belt. I kept one star from the band around Uncle Sam's hat to stick in Santa's beard. then I used foam tape on him and the hat to pop it off the card.

For the hat I used a little two-sided sticky tape and cut that of my stars off of a decoration that I purchased from Michael's and attached that to the back of the hat.

I used my Studio g stamp to create my sentiment and made my own tag for my card.

Create A Critter 2 Series # 46, 47, 48, 49, & 50

Happy Monday my crafty friends!!!

I am happy to say that this is the last post for the Create A Critter 2 Series with Stacy. I managed to knock out all the rest of the cards this past weekend. I'm so happy that I have a good jump on all my cards this year.

I kind of have to do this since my daughter's wedding is in June and I will be pretty scarce in blog land except for my design team posts until July.

Here they are: Warning Picture Heavy

Card # 46
This card is supposed to be a Hanukkah card but I switched it up to make one more Christmas card.

Create A Critter 2 Series # 45 - Ginger bread Boy

Happy Hump Day! I have another Christmas card. There's only one more Christmas card after this one to post and then on to the B-day section.

Card #45

Sorry for the picture. I'm having a little issue with keeping my hands steady. This card came with the phrase "Cookie Exchange" but I don't participate in a cookie exchange so I used my Studio g stamp, "Christmas Cheer"

Thanks for stopping by.

Create A Critter 2 Series # 43

Hello everyone. I've been MIA for a while helping to get a house ready for the rental season in between my full time job and trying to fit a craft project in here or there. Well as you can see the crafting has suffered a bit.

I managed to sprain my wrist and was told that I also have the beginnings of carpal tunnel. Ugh. So needless to say, typing or any movement of my left hand and wrist have been rather painful lately. But enough of that... Let's move on to a happy thought.

I have another Create A Critter card since I have to finish out the cart now that Stacy is finished with the series.

One more Christmas card to add to the stack. Yay!

Card # 43

Isn't cute? I love this little dog.

CAC 2 #36 - Thanks giving card

Happy Easter and Happy Sunday my friends.

I'm so excited because I just found out I won top honors for my St. Patrick's Day soap dispensers. I am proudly displaying my honor badge. :)

Okay enough about me and on to my last Thanksgiving card from the Create a Critter 2 series with Stacy Williams at Love that bug.

I'm having so much fun playing along with her and I'm so happy to say that I'm going to be ahead of all the season's this year.

For this card I couldn't resist getting out my cuttlebug folder and using it on the corn. It looks more like corn to me now. And you gotta love stickles. I had to give that a pie a little sugar coating with my crystal stickles. :)

Hope you are enjoying your day with your family and friends.

Thanks for dropping by.

CAC 2 #32 & 33 - Halloween

Good evening my friends. I have the last two Halloween cards to share with you from the Create A Critter 2 cart.

I do not have a favorite of the two cards, because I like them both. The Kitty is so adorable and the little Monsters are super fun.

Card # 32

I used my Sei Halloween paper for the background on my kitty card which I think is purrfect for this since it looks like animal fur. I had fun decorating her outfit with Fruit Punch stickles and mini pearls. I did not use the Phrase for this one since I did not want it to say Costume Party. So I dug out My Craft Spot Happy Haunting stamp set and used the "Trick or Treat!" stamp instead.

A added a little fruit punch stickles on the cheeks of this cute pumpkin bucket too.

Card #33

This backgound paper actually came from the Target dollar bin last year around Halloween. The Phrase on this page actually says "Monster Bash" so I cut the phrase BEWARE out on pg 50 and used the "w" as an "M" so I could have it say Monster Mash instead. :)

The little curlies are from the Phrase. Love these.

Thanks for dropping by.
Hope you have a wonderful evening.

CAC 2 # 27, 28, 29, 30, & 31 - Halloween Cards

Welcome! I'm playing catch up since I've been gone so I have a few more cards from the Create A Critter 2 series with Stacy at Love that bug.

The cards are Halloween themed since I am still on that section. Love the cute little characters.

Warning this is a picture heavy post since I have the fronts and insides of five different cards. :)

Card # 27

I embossed my ghost because I'm on the embossing kick.

Card # 28

Love the witchy turtle. So cute.

Card # 29

Card # 30

Using up my scraps, so yes I did use this background paper twice. Love it for Halloween cards.

The carmel apple is so cute and yummy looking. :)

Card # 31

Yep had to emboss one of the clouds and had to bling up the moon and the wings on the bee with some stickles.

Hope you have a wonderful day.

CAC 2 # 26 - Halloween 2

Glad you stopped by. I have another Halloween card from the Create A Critter 2 series.

I am on my way to Beaufort SC today so I won't be able to stop by your blogs this weekend. I will try to catch up with you during the week. This is a busy March for me. I have company coming on Tuesday and staying through Friday. Plus I have to find some time on Sunday and Monday evening to go help my MIL move in to her new house. Busy busy.

Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur... If you have ever watched the Big Bang Therory then you know what I'm signing about. :)

And here she is:

I wanted to make her look more like a fabric kitty so I used a patterned cs from CTMH my reflections moonlight pack. I used S.E.I spooks assortment pack in howl cs for the background mat and Recollections cs for all the solid cuts. And I had to draw a flight trail for my bat on the inside of the card. :)

Thanks for stoppin by.

Any way here's my card:

Create A Critter 2 # 24 - Freedom

Happy Monday!!! Glad you stopped in for another Create A Critter 2 card. This is the last of the Fourth of July cards. Wow time sure does fly in CAC world.

All this card making from the Create A Critter 2 cart is making me wish for warmer weather.

I got a little layer happy on this card. I used my star vellum that I bought from Michael's a few years ago. Yes I have been hording it for that special occassion so I forced myself to use it. I used the cuttlebug Stars embossing folder and the wonky rectangles from Spellbinders and a little silver ink for my layers behind the bear.

Entering this into:
Every day is an occassion - Linky Party
Craftin Desert Diva's - Craft it up Linky Party - Anything goes
Paper Playtime - Anything goes
4 Crafty Chicks - You've got me in stitches

Good morning my friends. A quick post of one more Create A Critter 2 series card with Stacy at Love that Bug.

This is a super cute 4th of July card. I love the dog and the fun cuts on this one. I had to give the hat and banner a little stitching with my white gel pen.

Thanks for stopping by.

Have a great day.

An Announcement and a card for CAC 2 # 22

Hello my friends and Happy Friday and the 1st of March!!!

I'm so excited to share the news. I am now a Design Team Member for the Cut it Up Challenge Blog! And to make things even more fun for me, my dear friend Kim is also a DT member so we get to scrap together on our projects. How fun is that?

Okay so on to my card today. I changed this card up again with a thinking of you card.

I love this adorable puppy and thought he deserved some pattern paper. I used the CAC style for this card so that my dog would stand out.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Thanks for stopping by.

Create A Critter 2 #21

Hello friends, glad you stopped by today. I'm a little behind in the crafty world.

I decided to work on a house project on Sunday which meant I had to paint the hallway up and down stairs. It's done and it looks fantastic. Yep all in one day. Well almost, I ended up taking a small dive off my ladder upstairs and knocked myself into my freshly painted wall. I still need a little touch up there. Oh and no worries, I didn't hurt myself. I tend to be a little clumsy now and then. :)

Okay on to my card, this is supposed to be another graduation card but I changed it up. My daughter is a teacher and when I saw the images I immediately saw a Teacher Appreciation card.

I didn't have a stamp for my sentiment so I typed it up in word and printed it out then used My Creative Time Fancy Frame die to cut out my sentiments. I also created the ruler that my owl is holding and cut that out by hand.

Here's the inside. Isn't it fun? I love the books and the apple.

I am entering this into the following challenges:
Cut it Up - Pinterest inspired project (by Jessica Everhart) Ruler holders, You Rule for V-day.
My Craft Spot #88 - pop it up

Thanks for stopping.
Hope you have a fun and crafty day.

Create A Critter 2 Series - # 20

Hello friends and happy Saturday to you. Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

I'm sure most of us have heard the saying: this little piggy went to market and this little piggy stayed home. Well this little piggy graduated and here she is on my card. :)

This is a cute cut from the Create a critter 2 cart and we are well on our way to making graduation cards now.

Here's the inside. Love the little diploma. I stuck with the school colors of the next one in line to graduate in our family. Of course it won't be for a few more years but I know our DIL will do it. We are so proud of her for trying to get her degree in pharmacology and while taking care of our Grand daughter. Not an easy task but she is doing it very well.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Thanks for stopping by.

Create A Critter 2 Series - #19

Happy Hump Day my friends.

I'm so ready for spring or I'll just take day light savings. My SIL is in Disney so I am getting hourly updates on what she is up to and it makes me wish I was there with her. So glad she is having fun.

Well on to another Create A Critter 2 card. We are up to Father's Day and this is the last Father's Day card for this cart then on to Graduation. My how time flies...

Any way enough babbling from me. Here is my take on the Father's Day card.

Love this horse and his tie. I see future crafting possibilities for me and the horse. :)

Entering into the following challenges:
Every day is an occassion: Sunday Funday Linky Party

CAC 2 Series # 17 & #18

Happy Sunday my craftin peeps. Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

I have two more Create a Critter 2 cards to share today.

To be honest, I think the Mother's day card is just okay. I love the papers that I picked but think the bears would have been happier on a less busy paper. Love the style of this card though. Everyone has an off day and here's mine.

The second card is a Father's Day card and I am pleased with the way this one turned out.

The Father bear is a golfer and I thought he'd look appropriate in plaid.
