Friday, November 16th - Festive Friday - Thanksgiving Recipes

Welcome to My Cricut Craft Room's Festive Friday.

First of all I have to say that I am so thankful and excited to be a part of Erica's Design Team. I'm like a kid in a candy shop, full of energy and running wild with excitement to be with such a wonderful group of talented ladies.

For today's project, I created a mini recipe book with just a few of my favorite Thanksgiving Recipes. This mini recipe book is for my daughter. She moved into her new house a few months ago. So I thought this would be a nice gift since this is her very first Thanksgiving at her new home.

Here's the outside of the book. I used the Artiste cart to cut the mini album cover and the pages to fit the CTMH dimensional elements chipboard (pg 60). The cover was cut at 3 3/4" from g. c. d. Autumn Afternoon cardstock. The pages were cut at 3 3/4" from Recollections Autumn  8x8 cardstock.

Here's a look at the pages inside. I left a few of the pages blank so that my daughter could add a few of her favorite Thanksgiving recipes too. I used Tim Holtz distressing inks in walnut stain for the book cover, pages, and leaves and tea dye for the recipe pages. I used the Simply Scarecrow cart to cut leaves at 1", and then I crumpled them up and added a little distressing ink.

The Measuring cup and spoons were cut out of the From My Kitchen cart at 1". My go to tool is Drywall tape. Yep I said it, drywall tape. This is the best thing ever to use for those small cricut cuts. I just stick the piece (in this case the inside of the spoon) to the drywall tape, turn it over and apply my glue then place it over the base cut (the spoon) and press down. Ta Da!

 

I also used MS brown baking twine, brown ribbon from my stash bin, and the Creative Imaginations sticker page, for the ring protectors. The recipes were typed and printed from my computer so that I could fit them on the mini pages. I put the ingredients on one side and the directions on the other side of the page.

Fall is here

Well here I am in my craft room creating all kinds of projects for November. I can't wait to show all my crafty friends. But since I have to hold those for special Guest designer posts, I decided to play along with the FCCB this week; which is to make a project using polka-a-dots.

What I used:
Simply Scarecrow - Lady Scarecrow cut at 3 1/2" using Recollections CS.
I used a standard 5 x 7 card that I bought from HL
My Background paper is from Recollections Autumn 8 x 8 paper stack
SU Basic Black ink
Studio g - Fall is here clear stamp
Google eyes
Bling from AC Moore
Taylored Expressions Bracket Frame and Take Note Frame Dies
I used the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing folder on the Take Note Die to add a little more texture then I used a Gelly Roll white pen for a few dots on the Scarecrow and a Le Pen marker in Orange to create a few dots around my Bracket Frame tag.
