Calculating time

Hello my friends, I hope you are enjoying your Sunday.

We had our close friends from Wilmington staying with us this weekend and they just got engaged during Christmas.

My friend has a daughter who will be getting a new Grandmother when our friends marry. The Daughter put in a request for a card to give to her new Grandmother. Well this sounded like a wonderful challenge and I needed to get a project posted for this week so I took advantage of the opportunity and this is what I came up with.

My friend was very pleased with the results so I know her daughter will like it too.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:
Cardz TV - Anything goes
Penny's Paper-Crafty - Anything goes
Creative Mondays - Anything Goes
Lollipop Crafts - Anything Goes
2 Sisters - Anything goes
Allsorts - Anything goes
Paper Shelter Challenge - add a sentiment (Love)
Moving Along With the Times - Lots of Layers
Delightful Challenges - Use Patterned Paper
Paper Pretties PWC194 - use punches or die cuts (starfish and hearts)

Here's how I made this card:
I used an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of Stampin Up! cardstock in Taken with Teal and cut that in half to make my card 5 1/2 x 4 1/2

I cut a piece of DCWV cardstock from the linen closet paper pad at 4 3/4 x 2 then I hand tore the one of the long edges.
I cut a piece of Recollections tan cardstock at 5 x 2 1/2 and hand tore this as well then layered the two pieces together.

I used the Tim Holtz distressing tool to distress my pieces on the front and inside of the card.
I inked all the edges with SU Crumb Cake ink.
And also used Ranger Perfect Pearls in gold and added water to some of the powder then misted it on all my pieces and card too.

I cut starfish using the Life's a Beach cart with the teal and tan card stock that was left over in 1 3/4 and 2 1/2. I used glue dots to attach the star fish after curling the legs a little.

I cut hearts from the Tie the Knot cart at 1 3/4" teal cardstock and 2" from S.E.I Bissette paper pad. I distressed, inked, misted and crumpled up the hearts before I glued them together.

I printed out the card phrase on recollections paper in a cream color and cut it out at 2 2/16 x 2 1/4.

I cut a tan strip for my background on the inside of the card at 4 1/2 x 3 then a piece of white paper at 2 11/16 x 2 10/16 to add to the bottom of the tan stip. This white paper serves as the place for a hand written note.

I took the teal card and scored it 1/4 on one side to use as a flap distressed it and added the starfish to the edge. I printed my inside sentiment then cut this down to 2 10/16 x 2 3/4 and scored this 1/4 on the top. I used red tape on the two scored pieces and made these my flaps.

Thanks for stopping by.
