Febuary 2 - 100 Cart Blog Hop

Happy Ground hog day and welcome to the My Cricut Craft Room 100 cart blog hop.

You should have come from Erica's blog http://mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com/. If you just hopped in to my blog, and would like to start at the beginning, please click HERE.

For my project today I am using the following carts:
Elegant Edges
Holiday Cakes
Bloom
Tie the Knot
Wrap it Up

I thought it would be fun to make a Recipe Book for my daughter. I wanted to give her a few treat recipes to use for Valentine's Day and leave her room for her own recipes too. Since my theme is Valentine's Day recipes I went all out with the front cover of her book.

I think it has a romantic girly feel. Don't you? I know she will love it!

Warning: This post is picture heavy. I wanted to share every page since it shows the different cuts from each cart:

What I used for the front cover: 1. Elegant Edges~Pg 41 cut at 5 3/4" from K& Company Lovely CS, TH distressing Ink in Worn Lipstick. 2. Bloom~ Bird Cage cut at 3" on Chipboard inked with TH tea dye distressing ink. 3. Wrap it Up~Tag on pg 69 cut at 2 1/2" from Recollections CS, Dollar Stamp sentiment and hearts, Photo hanger from CTMH, and Pearls are from my stash, foam tape to pop up the tag. 4. Holiday Cakes~ R- cut at 2", ecipes- cut at 1" from Black Recollections CS. Ribbon on rings from my stash, bling hanging from the top ring found at Michael's. I added a red heart cookie cutter to the binder so she can use that for two of the recipes that I gave her. :)

The Chipboard book is from Michael's dollar bin, I used two packs. The Crop-a-dile II was used to cut the extra hole in the bottom of all of the chipboard and to punch holes in my pages.

All the covers were cut from Elegant Edges using the book feature. I wanted the pages to be slightly smaller than the chipboard to give it a more rustic look. All Chipboard was inked with TH tea dye distressing ink first. Then I inked the pages in TH Worn Lipstick and glued them down.

I created the recipe cards on my computer and printed them on gray card stock.

I am a big Starbucks fan so I collect the cardboard cozies. I pulled out a bunch of these cozies and closed the bottoms with some red line tape. I turned the cozy face down and traced it out on the CS of my choice then cut these out by hand. I used the TH distressing tool to rough up the edges then I used some Tombo glue to adhere my patterned paper to the fronts of the cozies and Wha La!! Instant pocket. Pretty nifty huh?

Here are the pages:

It's hard to see but I took pictures of the recipes and put frames around them then printed them on CS. I'm a visual person so I wanted to show her what she would be creating. :)

5. Tie the Knot~Pg 54 - Love was cut at 1" and 2" from Recollections CS. Pg. 55 XOXO was cut @ 1" and Pg 53 Lips cut @ 1" & 1 3/4". Smaller lips are in the pic above in the bottom left corner. And the smaller Love is shown in the pic below.

The clothes pins came from Target's dollar bin.

I made a pocket and created some blank recipe cards for my daughter's favorite recipes.

I took the bird cage that I cut and attached it to the X with a brad. Pic below.

This is a recipe for Hot Pink Chocolate Chip Cookies. Just add red food coloring to your cookie recipe and you have instant Valentine's Day cookies. I found this on Pinterest. If you want to see this recipe go to my Valentine's Day board. Most of the recipes in this book came from that board on my Pinterest account.

And finally here is the back of the book. I took this picture before I stamped it with my Scrappin Rabbit Designs Stamp. I also used a few spellbinder shapes for some of my tags on my inside pages.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by. I just love sharing my projects and hope that it gives you a little inspiration today.
