Wed. Feb. 6th - Is it Thanksgiving already?

Happy Wednesday my bloggie friends. I'm so glad you stopped by to look at my project today.

Erica asked the design team to use a cart in a way that we would never think to use it. After putting my thinking cap on I came up with a St. Patrick's Day project using my Thanksgiving cart. What? You say. Yep it's true. Take a look at this! I am so happy with how this turned out.

Here's a close up of the patterned paper and the glitter from the stardust gelly roll pen that I used.

And here is the full picture of my St. Patrick's Day Wall hanging. How fun is that!?!

So to start my project, I used the Thanksgiving cart and cut the pilgrim hat using the fit to page feature which cut the hat at 7 3/4". I cut this out on chipboard first, then again from the Martha Stewart double-sided classic woodland collection. I glued the two pieces together using Scotch quick dry adhesive. I punched my holes in the top of the hat and added some black 20 gauge wire.

At this point the hubby came home so I took my white scrap paper, punched several scalloped 2" circles with my EK Success scallop punch. Then I went down stairs to catch up with the husband and scrunch up the flower layers. Multi-tasking :)

I used the Celebrate with Flourish cart to cut my clovers at 2 1/4", 3", and 3 1/4". I cut the sentiment, "Happy St. Patrick's Day" from the Create a critter 2 cart. The buckle was cut twice, once on chipboard then again using DCWV gold metallic card stock. All the solid green cs is from Recollections.

The fringe on the bottom of the hat was a nice after thought. I went through my ribbon drawer looking for something to decorate the wire on the top of the hat and came across the fringe. I attached this using my hot glue gun. I thought this gave my hat a Savannah, GA St. Patty's Day style. If you've ever been there during St. Patrick's Day then you know what I mean. Serious party down there and everybody dresses up in green, from wigs and costumes, to body paint, to oh my! I would never let my daughter wear that! But it is darn fun and every body is so friendly.

Okay - Enough chatting from me, I am sending you off to my DT sister Mary for some more inspiration!

Have a Happy Crafty Wednesday!!!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving me some bunny hugs.
